In Ridley Scott’s sequel to Silence of the Lambs, Oldman’s makeup work is astounding and works perfectly with the actor’s standard brilliant performance.
If it weren’t’ for the flashback scene, people will probably still be clueless with the question “who lies beneath all of that makeup”. Oldman always had a thing for unrecognizable roles, but this one stands out from all of his many transformations. No one could argue with that.
