8. Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

This 2006 comedy-drama road-trip film, directed by the husband-wife team of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, is a perfect example of why money is not crucial in the cinema world, or any other art for that matter.

Story focuses on a young girl and her family who are incredibly determined to get her into a beauty pageant final.

The colorful gang then takes a cross-country trip in their VW bus in order to make that happen.

The script was written by first-time writer Michael Arndt, while the amazing cast consisting of Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Paul Dano, Abigail Breslin and Alan Arkin gave this incredible story many colors.
