8. Planet Of The Apes

CBS decided to give their best shot at making a TV version of The Planet Of The Apes, after its success wore off and Arthur P. Jacobs, the producer of the movies, died.

Although the series wasn’t as successful as its big-screen parent, it wasn’t completely terrible.

Alas, that wasn’t enough for the audience and the show got cancelled after only thirteen episodes.

In 1974, just one year after the series has flopped, another huge TV company tried to make a series out of the movie franchise, an animated one in fact, but that show shared the same fate as the short-lived 1974 spin-off.
