9. Gene Hackman
One of the biggest names on our list, Gene Hackman has managed to appear in exactly 100 movies, even though he decided to throw in the towel as early as 2004.
His extremely successful acting career was adorned by many huge awards – two Oscars, three Golden Globes, two BAFTAs – and in July 2004, during an interview with Larry King, Hackman announced that he was retiring from his acting career.
Gene actually followed through and really never appeared on big screen again. So, what the Hack is this Man doing today?
He writes. The former actor has written three amazing historical novels with archaeologist, Daniel Lenihan, while in 2013 Hackman released his first solo novel entitled “Pursuit”, the story about revenge and romance in the Old West. Awesome stuff.
