5. Will Smith In “Seven Pounds” (2008)

We all first encountered Will Smith back in the year 1990 when the popular sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” walked into our living-rooms.

The sitcom launched Smith’s career and got him roles in movies like “Independence Day”, “Bad Boys” and “Men In Black”.

However, Smith later felt the need to do more serious films and to try and give his career another dimension.

And he did just that, and with style.

He nailed his parts in “I Am Legend” and “The Pursuit of Happiness”, but the role that really surprised us all was his lead in the critically acclaimed drama “Seven Pounds” in which Will plays Ben Thomas, a man with a fatal disease who chooses to donate his organs to the most deserving people he can find.

The script is nicely written, while Smith gives an awesome performance and paints his characters with a wide range of emotions we did not know he had it in him.
