We were definitely surprised, since his amazing role as Gimli the Dwarf concreted him into our minds forever as a, well, dwarf.
Rhys-Davies is 6ft1″ tall, and not so ginger at all. Hey, look, it rhymes.
Apart from John, a lot of credit has to go to all of the people behind the computer screens and programs which made that humongous man look like he was shorter than a 10-year-old.
Another great example of John’s commitment has to be all of that hair he had stuck to his head (and face), because it sure wasn’t as pleasant as it… Okay, it doesn’t look pleasant at all.
