Shatner told the promoter of the event that he didn’t “want to do this and really don’t want to deal with all this Alzheimer’s crap.”
George Takei, another Star Trek veteran, revealed in 2010: “This is the usual thing that happens. On the set – whether it was the TV series or the movies, or at conventions – this was another convention where he decided he was not going to do what they wanted him to do, and he walked out.”
