The CGI used in The Matrix had never been seen before and was pure innovation that made jaws drop all over the globe.
The very concept of The matrix was genius as well. It depicts a dystopian future in which reality as perceived by most humans is actually a simulated reality called “the Matrix”, created by sentient machines to subdue the human population, while their bodies’ heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source.
The movie magnificently depicted the sense of detachment from reality that came with internet access, and set many a new trend in storytelling, cinematography and sci-fi genre in general.
