The film is a curious depiction of modern life in Paris and it tells the story of a shy waitress, played by Audrey Tautou, who decides to bring joy to all the people she encounters, while she herself struggles to fit in and beat her own isolation.
Amélie is definitely one of the most beautiful and most magnificently imaginative characters to ever reach the big screen, and the true beauty of this brilliant movie lies in Tautou’s depiction of this highly sensitive and charming person, and almost childishly reminds us not to forget those little things.
We recommend this movie to be watched every 3 years, just in case one gets off the track and forgets what is really important when it comes to this brief, but beautiful journey we call life.
