Born and raised in Canada, Ellen Page grew up acting on Canadian television starting at the age of 10.

She appeared in a number of Canadian film and television roles before landing a supporting role in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand.

Though her character was far from a major player in the film, it did help introduce Page to an American audience.

From there she would go on to land the breakout role in the 2007 feature film Juno. Playing the title character, a pregnant teenager, Page garnered critical acclaim from a number of industry professionals.

A.O. Scott of The New York Times referred to Page’s performance as “frighteningly talented,” while Roger Ebert wondered if “there had been a better performance that year than Ellen Page’s creation of Juno?”

Although the rumor mill was never in high gear regarding her personal life, some fans have wondered about her sexual orientation. She is a self-described pro-choice feminist and is often outspoken about various social issues.

In February 2014, she acknowledged her sexual orientation as a lesbian at the Human Rights Campaign’s “Time to Thrive” conference. Currently, Page is not rumored to be involved with anyone nor has she been linked to previous relationships with other women.
