7. Jodie Foster

Few people can claim the sort of longevity in the field of acting that Jodie Foster has achieved. She has been living her life in the limelight since her breakout role in the 1970s film Taxi Driver.

Now 51 years old, Foster’s acting career began at the age of three when she appeared in a number of commercials. It was her role as a child prostitute in the 1975 film Taxi Driver that really gained notoriety for the rising star.

Since then her career trajectory has lead continuously upward.

Over the years she has appeared in some of the biggest films produced in Hollywood, including The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs. For those two films in particular, Foster gained immense praise and was awarded with an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in both films.

Foster’s private life had remained just that, private, for most of her professional acting career. The actress does have two sons, born in 1998 and 2001 respectively. Foster officially acknowledged her sexuality during a bizarre speech at the 70th Golden Globe Awards in 2013. She announced in that speech that she was no longer with movie producer Cydney Bernard.

The two had been together since 1993, but their relationship ended in 2008. Today, Foster is married to actress and photographer Alexandra Hedison. The couple got married in April 2014.
