7. Get Him to the Greek

“Get Him to the Greek” is the unofficial sequel to a film called “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” It features the rock star Aldous Snow, who was a secondary character in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”

The rock star has fallen off the wagon and has taken up a life of drugs and alcohol. He’s got a rock show coming up at the historic Greek Theater in Los Angeles and Jonah Hill has to get him to the show on time.

Doing so proves easier said than done since Aldous makes Jonah Hill’s life as difficult as possible every step of the way. Russell Brand plays the unruly rocker to perfection, of course, and his portrayal alone will cause many a belly laugh.

Hill’s performance is filled with funny frustration. His serious task is quite at odds with the rock star’s need for mayhem and fun. Perhaps it’s never going to be nearly as fun to be a record company employee compared to a rock star, but Hill’s character eventually loosens up and can’t help but enjoy some of the antics. Certainly the audience will find both characters charming and fun in their own way. Be sure to see the film and enjoy the hilarity.
