8. Tobey Maguire
Maguire was born to Wendy Brown, a secretary, and Vincent Maguire, a construction worker and a cook.
His parents were only 18 and 20 years old at the time, unmarried and unprepared.
The two married, but subsequently divorced when Tobey was only two.
Maguire spent most of his childhood moving from one place to another, but also living with each parent and other family members. During his childhood, he wanted to become a chef like his father, but his mother offered him $100 to take a drama class instead and, luckily, Tobey agreed.
But the biggest problem was in fact his father, Vincent, who just couldn’t cope with the lack of money they were experiencing, and so, one day he got the idea to rob the bank. Vincent was so worn out that he hadn’t quite thought the idea through. In fact, he decided to rob the bank across the street from his house, on foot, in the middle of the day, without a mask.
Needless to say, he was arrested immediately, but since he was unarmed, and it was his first offense, he served only two years in prison.
