15 Movies That Ruined Careers

12. Soul Man

1986’s Soul Man is wrong on so many levels. If there was a device that estimated the level of something wrong, it would have crashed from the mere title of this movie.

C. Thomas Howell starred in one of the most idiotic films ever made, and for what reason, we don’t know.

The movie, with an “accidentally racist title” (according to some) sent Howell off to a career in bad Tuesday mid-day movies and straight-to-DVD action flicks for the next 15 years.

Back in the 80’s, C. Thomas Howell was a big budget actor (can you believe it?), with roles in blockbusters like E.T., and Red Dawn. Taking that into consideration, we can’t imagine why he, or anyone for that matter, would agree to a role in Soul Man with blackface. Howell is still a B movie actor. Serves him right.
