Fran Drescher was one of the “it” girls of the nineties, thanks to the success and fan base of her TV show The Nanny.

Straight off the popularity wagon, Fran was given her own starring vehicle in one remarkably stupid movie The Beautician And The Beast.

The reviews were unsatisfactory and the box office wasn’t quite showered with cash, so Fran never got another shot. Which is too bad, because she is kind of funny and has some star quality in her quirkiness, even after all those years.

And the movie is not so dreadful; it’s just… slightly stupid. Fran is now happily married and starring in a TV show based on her life – Happily Divorced.
