15 Movie Mistakes You Might Have Missed

11. The Matrix

“The Matrix” is a movie that is so filled with continuity errors that one could make the serious argument that there are no errors at all – what viewers are seeing is just a “glitch in the Matrix.”

Early on in the film, Neo is hanging off the side of a building while trying to get away from Agent Smith. When he drops his sunglasses, we see a parade going on below him on the street.

The camera cuts to a reaction shot of Neo and back to the street. The parade that was going on moments before seems to have completely disappeared in an instant.

Another continuity error occurs during the fight between Morpheus and Agent Smith as the Agent’s glasses mysteriously vanish and then reappear several times during the scene. The film’s directors had a major problem with the reflective surfaces of the dark glasses worn by most of the characters during the film.

Cameramen, crew members and even the directors themselves regularly found themselves on film after their reflections were visible in the lenses. This is the reason why the surface of the lenses tend to change during the movie between a shiny reflective surface and a more matte appearance.
