With the franchise’s return in December with “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” fans from around the world have been praying for many of their favorite characters to make yet another appearance in the seventh installation of the sci-fi saga.
During an interview with Cinelinx, the actor talked about his most recent performance as Lando in “Star Wars Rebels,” the animated series in which Williams lent his voice to his most famous character.
At some point, Williams surprised us all by commenting on a possible appearance in the three future installments of the franchise.
Said the actor: “I have a feeling I’m going to show up. There’s nothing I can really discuss about it at this stage. People think of me as the original cast, but I didn’t come in until the second movie.”
“I did Empire and then I did Return of the Jedi, but I came in after everyone else was introduced…So I think they’re probably proceeding in that way. I can’t imagine them not bringing Lando back.”
We couldn’t imagine that either, Billy Dee. Let’s just hope J.J. Abrams hears your voice, searches his feelings, and follows his heart.
