After the unexpected success of “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” the merry band of mutants are looking at yet another installment of the comic book-based franchise.
Aside from Professor Xavier, Magneto, Beast, And Mystique we already know from the previous movie, additions to the cast will feature actors who will fill the roles of younger, yet not less popular characters like Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey.
However, there is one mutant that will make an appearance in the next X-Men movie, only this time he will bear a different connotation than the last time. It was officially confirmed that Angel, played by Ben Foster in “X-Men: Last Stand,” will be featured once again on the big screen.
But as Bryan Singer, who’s directing the new movie, said: “He’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say…” This means that Warren Worthington III, a.k.a. Angel, will more likely take up the role of Angel’s twisted counterpart Archangel.
In the comic, Apocalypse chooses four mutants from time to time to pose as his personal bodyguard, calling them the Four Horsemen. He makes his choice as he sees fit, since his unimaginable power allows him to.
Angel, who’s originally a good guy, makes the cut at a certain point and gets transformed via genetic manipulation and dark magic into the Archangel, who is as vicious and unforgiving as Angel is kind and noble.
It hasn’t been disclosed as to which actor will be chosen by Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse to be the Archangel in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” We’ll have to wait for more info on that, as well as who will be playing the rumored characters of Nightcrawler, Jubilee, and Psylocke.
