The film was actually a big influence on both the original version of Ocean’s Eleven and the remake that was produced in 2001.
It was also officially remade by filmmaker Neil Jordon as a film titled The Good Thief. The Good Thief was originally released in 2002.
Bob Le Flambeur has a running time of 102 minutes and is in French with English subtitles when viewed or purchased in the United States. If you love a good casino heist, Bob Le Flambeur is for you. It is worth getting used to reading subtitles in English in order to watch the movie.
You might have trouble finding a copy of this movie, but it will be worth your efforts. This is old-fashioned, casino heist at its best. The movie is rated PG and uses carefully crafted plot twists instead of foul language and violence to get your attention.

Sometimes it is worth watching an old black and white movie, just for the experience. This is one of those times. The remake, “The Good Thief”, wasn’t nearly as good as the original.
