Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman and Batman v Superman

This past Saturday it was reported that Jason Momoa, best known for his roles in the “Conan The Barbarian” remake and “Game of Thrones,” had landed the role of Aquaman in the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Warner Bros. has yet to either confirm or deny this story, but what does Momoa have to say on the subject?

The actor made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, and after a bit of banter the host dropped the bombshell question on his guest: Is he playing Aquaman?

To this question Momoa responded by cagily stroking his beard, then asked, “Would you like to see me in a green leotard?”

Unfortunately, the conversation moved on without Kimmel insisting on a straight answer from his guest. It’s entirely possible that it’s Jimmy Kimmel’s insistence here that is selling the idea that the Jason Momoa-Aquaman rumor is true, but given how many reputable sites have confirmed the news and how coy Momoa is acting, we would wager that this is all but a done deal.

Momoa may not be able to talk about it because it’s supposed to be a surprise or because negotiations are still happening, but at this point there’s a lot of evidence pointing to reality of these “rumors.”

So which superheroes can we now expect to see in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” beyond its titular heroes played by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill? Well, we’ve known for months now that Gal Gadot is on-board as Wonder Woman, but we’ve also heard that Broadway actor Ray Fisher has landed the role of Cyborg.

We’ve also heard persistent stories about the possible arrival of characters like Flash or Green Lantern, but we have yet to hear about any actors landing those parts or any real confirmation.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is currently in production, but we won’t be getting to see the final product for quite a long time now, given its May 6, 2016 release date. That said, the film has been shooting for a long enough time now that the possibility of seeing the first footage at San Diego Comic-Con next month isn’t totally out of the question.
