Apparently, you can now get arrested over the new Star Wars movie. Yes, the hype so real it is getting ridiculous.

All spoilers are lame, we can all agree on that one, but to threaten someone with taking their life just because he or she spoiled the major movie plot twist for you is just plain wrong. Or is it?

It is, we are kidding of course, but it seems that the Star Wars fan, Arthur Charles Roy, doesn’t really thinks so as he threatened to shoot his Facebook friend over spoilers to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

As Cinema Blend reports, “an 18 year old Montana resident, threatened a Facebook friend with a photo of a handgun and the promise of shooting them during their school day. The story gets even crazier, as Roy’s threat triggered a lockdown of the victim’s high school, which eventually prompted the revelation that the gun used in the threat was actually a BB gun. Arthur Charles Roy is currently being detained, with bail set at $10,000.

Technicalities

Now, the question is whether his friend wanted to spoil the movie on purpose, or he did it unintentionally.

We all know how hard it is to keep yourself free from unwanted information online, especially if you are a regular Facebook, Instagram or Twitter user who seeks to stay in the dark concerning the major plot twist in the newest Star Wars installment. That is virtually impossible (pun intended). Everywhere you look you see a post related to the new Star Wars movie and you are practically forced to find out certain things, especially as they now started hiding the spoiler in gifs that are seemingly unrelated to the movie. Outrageous.

As for Arthur’s future, there’s still no official info on whether his Facebook friend had spoiled the movie on purpose, which will be the crucial piece of information for the case.

Stay tuned.
