“The Purge: Anarchy” looks set to be even more thrilling than its predecessor.
The original story followed an American family living in the year 2022 where crime and unemployment has almost disappeared.
This is due to a new law known as “The Purge” which legalises all forms of crime, no matter how brutal, for 12 hours each year.
The first instalment starred Ethan Hawke as a home security salesman attempting to keep his family safe during the chaos. Things take a turn for the worst after the family take pity on a beaten and bloodied stranger who arrives outside their home begging for help. Although the first instalment failed to impress the critics, it became a hit with the fans and grossed more than $89 million with a budget of just $3 million.
“The Purge: Anarchy” stars Zach Guilford and Kiele Sanchez as a young couple attempting to make it home to their children before the annual purge begins. After their car breaks down, the couple need to survive the next 12 hours in a city filled with looters, rapists and murderers.
With the release date set for June 14, we’re preparing for another summer blockbuster.
