6. Dead William Shatner mask in Halloween (1978)

According to various sources, the Dead William Shatner mask that was used in John Carpenter’s Halloween back in 1978 came to be as a result of a very tight budget that only allowed $2 to be spent on Michael Myers’s mask.

All the film crew managed to find within that budget was a Star Trek (1966) William Shatner mask. Thanks to their creativity they turned their $2 prop into one of the most recognizable horror movie villain masks in Hollywood history.

Other sources say that it was William Shatner himself who created the icon Halloween mask. Urban legends or not, the Dead William Shatner mask helped created one of the greatest slasher film characters in Michael Myers.
