However, the movie about a little girl who can speak to spirits and demons, including those living in a television set that Steven Spielberg produced was certainly laden with cursed-type occurrences.
For example, four cast members died from somewhat suspicious and unusual incidents before and after the movie was filmed.
This includes the death of Heather O’Rourke, who played the young girl Carol Anne Freeling in the film. She suffered from septic shock due to a bowel abnormality. Dominique Dunne, who played Carol Anne’s sister Dana also died when she was choked to death by her ex-partner.
One of the reasons the movie might be cursed is an unproven legend: That Spielberg used real skeletons instead of fake ones in the film. That’s probably enough to make at least some or more of the undead pretty darn angry.
JoBeth Williams, who played the mother in the film, also felt the work of spirits while she was filming the movie. She reported that every day she would return home from the set to find her photos on the wall were turned crookedly. She would fix them and return home the next day only to find them once again crooked. Weird.
