5. Happy Birthday to Me

This slasher film was released in 1981 and is pretty disturbing for the mere fact that its creepiest kid is Melissa Sue Anderson who played darling and sweet Mary Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie.

The film features Anderson in the role of Ginny who plays a teenage girl who appears to have it all—popularity and brains.

She may have more going on than meets the eye, however. This film is famous for its twisted murders and gruesome killings. In fact, who is Ginny? Slasher fans will revel in this strange plot and its even stranger ending.

Without giving too much away, it seems that jealousy is a major motive in this horror tale. There is so much jealousy that it drives the killer to murder another teenager with a kebob stick through the back of his throat. Ginny’s birthday plays a major role in this psychological thriller too, but you’ll have to watch to find out more about the party.

This film is pretty weird, but strangely unique and Anderson plays a satisfyingly creepy role that seems ill-suited for a girl from the prairie; yet somehow it works. It might be tough to find these days, but your favorite video rental business should still have it in stock.
