Back in 1968, George Romero made an independent horror film about the zombie apocalypse, and the movie became a pioneer of all zombie movies and games that later came out.
“Dawn of the Dead”, “Left 4 Dead”, “Dead Rising”, and other zombie flicks we love and enjoy today owe their existence to this classic.
The movie was heavily criticized upon its release, especially for its explicit gory scenes of violence, but it gradually managed to earn critical acclaim.
