When the LAPD is publicly railed by the local minister for its incompetence and corruption, they do a haphazard search and decide to publicly reunite mother and son for positive PR.
The son, however, isn’t the right person and the police call the mother crazy for refusing to believe her son is so drastically different. The mother Christina Collins, played by Jolie, knows that the boy claiming to be her son isn’t, but no one will believe her.
She begins to believe that maybe she is crazy and she takes care of the boy like normal. She starts noticing that the boy has no manners, something her son was fastidious about. Then she goes to measure her son on the wall and he is three inches shorter than he was six months ago.

This sparks Christina to continue questioning the identity of the boy, trying to convince officials he is not her son.
The twists in this movie are endless, and the fact that this movie is based on a true story is simply terrifying. A great movie to watch, a scary thought that it is actually true.
