It’s a well known fact that when a character dies in a comic book, it doesn’t have to mean that he’s dead. However, in movies, once you snap someone’s neck, he will most likely stay in that movie and won’t see the end of the franchise.
But Warner Bros. are giving us hints of the opposite. Last time we’ve seen him, Michael Shannon’s character in “Man of Steel,” General Zod, got killed at the climax of the movie by Superman himself. However, reports suggest that Shannon is likely to return to the franchise, only this time his part will be much greater than General Zod.
Apparently, after Zod gets killed, Lex Luthor finds his body runs some freaky experiments on it.
This way, he finds out Superman’s weakness, but also accidentally triggers the “Doomsday genome” in Zod’s body, causing him not only to come back to life, but also to transform into a Kryptonian monstrosity hell-bent on destroying everything in its path.
The events described above are considered as crucial moments in the DC Universe, so if the rumors of Shannon’s return prove true, we’re likely to see them happen in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” in 2016.
