Once an actor comes to a certain age, there is a high chance of that same actor to start dabbling in the directing profession. We’ve seen it happen a bunch of times – Tom Hanks, Ben Affleck, Angelina Jolie, Robert Redford, Mel Gibson, and many more have partially or completely transferred from being in front to sitting behind the camera.
Just recently he won the Golden Globe Award in the Best Actor category for his latest movie “The Revenant,” and is believed it’s this film that will finally earn him that evasive Oscar.
In other words, Leo is currently the biggest face in the acting business and he can do whatever he wants.
While talking to Variety, DiCaprio revealed that becoming a director isn’t one of the things he wants to do. He said: “I’ve been so blessed to work with some great filmmakers, that I’m probably cursed to probably ever work as a director myself. I don’t think I would be able to compare to what I’ve seen.”
Leo added: “There are so many things that come into play when you make a movie. I really don’t know how they do it.”
If there was ever an actor that have met more than enough legendary directors to become one himself, it’s Leonardo DiCaprio. He worked with the likes of James Cameron, Chris Nolan, Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and more, but he claims that he was always too focused on the acting part to pick up any side knowledge from these directing legends.
